DEMOGO is an Italian architecture firm founded in 2007 by Simone Gobbo, Alberto Mottola and Davide De Marchi.
The main focus of DEMOGO’s work is the complex relationship between contemporaneity and spatial articulation, pursuing an authorial approach linked to perceptive relationships within significant habitats.
In its research, the studio respects the evocative dimensions of places, defining a changing register of adaptations and interpretations through architecture. DEMOGO flanks its design with the theoretical dimension of research, publishes its works in the leading international architectural journals and is invited to present and exhibit its design results in lectures, exhibitions, and publishing initiatives. DEMOGO’s projects have been exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, at the Milan Triennale, and as part of the permanent collection of the MAXXI (National Museum of XXI Century Art) in Rome. The partners teach at the IUAV University of Venice, the University of Genoa, and the University of Ferrara. Finally, DEMOGO develops projects and participates in design com- petitions in collaboration with some of the most prestigious international architecture firms.
In 2009 DEMOGO won the Europan10 international com- petition for the Town Hall of Gembloux in Belgium. The work, completed in 2015, was awarded by National Council of Architects, together the MAXXI, the Young Talent of Italian Architecture Award.
In 2015 DEMOGO won the competition for the reconstruction of the Bivouac Fanton on the Forcella Marmarole (2,667 m) in the Dolomites, a project selected in 2018 for the “Arcipelago Italia” curatorial program exhibited at the 16th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice.
In 2018 DEMOGO was selected by the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies and the Chicago Athenaeum as one of 40 emerging architects and designers under 40. Also, in 2018 it received the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture – T Young De Albertis Award for the Bivouac Fanton project, which was exhibited at the Milan Triennale.
In 2019 DEMOGO was invited by the MAXXI in Rome to participate in the exhibition AT HOME. Progetti per l’abitare contemporaneo, and in 2023 was included in the exhibition FUORI TUTTO. Esporre i depositi della Collezione MAXXI. The drawings and models of the Gembloux Town Hall and the Bivouac Fanton projects form part of the Museum’s permanent architecture collection.
Between 2020 and 2021 DEMOGO won competitions for the Flaminio Civic Center in Rome, for the Palazzo Carcano Courthouse in Trani, and for the new headquarters of Gibus, projects currently under development. In 2022 the office was awarded the Barbara Cappochin International Prize for Architecture and the Dedalo Minosse International Prize for Commissioning.
In 2023 DEMOGO completed the new offices for the Financial Police in Bologna, a work awarded at the Best Architects 24. In the same year, the Bivouac Fanton won the Grand Prix of Architectural Design of the Year at the DNA Paris Design Awards and the National Prize at the BigMat International Architecture Award. In 2024 DEMOGO was shortlisted for the Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture.
Founders
Simone Gobbo
Theorist (1980), graduated from University of Architecture of Venice. In 2006 he completes the MASP postgraduate master’s degree on Public Space in Lucca. He has been assistant lecteur at University of Architecture of Genoa from 2011, UNIGE Since 2017. In 2016, as part of the series “In teoria” of Quodlibet publishers, he published the book Fuori registro. In 2017 he was Ph.D in architecture at Genoa University_Research. In 2020 published The Innocence of Wall of Quodlibet publishers.
Alberto Mottola
Architectural Conceptor (1979), graduated from the University of Architecture of Venice in 2006, he completed his academic studies at Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris La Villette. He obtained the postgraduate master’s degree MASP on Public Space in Lucca in 2007. In 2016 and 2019, he was Visiting Professor at the University of Architecture of Venice.
Davide De Marchi
Business and Project developer (1980), studied at Technical Italian Institute where he graduated as surveyor in 1999. From 2005 he is partner of National Bioecological Architectural Association, ANAB. From 2006 he is enabled to safety coordination on construction sites. Admitted to the Order of surveyors of Treviso in 2006. He is attending ANAB-IBN-SIB classes in School of Natural Architecture in 2009.

Architect (1992), graduated from Technische Universiteit Delft (TU Delft) in 2017 after academic experiences at the IUAV University of Architecture of Venice and at the Academy of Architecture of Università della Svizzera italiana in Mendrisio. Since 2019 has been a full-time part of the DEMOGO team, focusing on competitions and project development.
Davide Bertin
Architect (1995), graduated from University of Architecture of Venice (IUAV). Since 2020 has been a full-time part of the DEMOGO team, focusing on competitions, architectural visualization, project development and site management.
Alessandro Zamprogna
Intern (2000), graduated from the University of Ferrara. In 2023, he completed an Erasmus exchange at TU Delft. During the academic period, he took part in several design competitions as a collaborator. In 2024, he was a teaching assistant for the Design Laboratory II course.

Fabio Tossutti
Architect (1992), graduated from Technische Universiteit Delft (TU Delft) in 2017 after academic experiences at the IUAV University of Architecture of Venice and at the Academy of Architecture of Università della Svizzera italiana in Mendrisio. Since 2019 has been a full-time part of the DEMOGO team, focusing on competitions and project development.
Davide Bertin
Architect (1995), graduated from University of Architecture of Venice (IUAV). Since 2020 has been a full-time part of the DEMOGO team, focusing on competitions, architectural visualization, project development and site management.
Alessandro Zamprogna
Intern (2000), graduated from the University of Ferrara. In 2023, he completed an Erasmus exchange at TU Delft. During the academic period, he took part in several design competitions as a collaborator. In 2024, he was a teaching assistant for the Design Laboratory II course.
