The design for the new Anas headquarters in Reggio Calabria simplifies, through forms and gestures, the complexity of the Mediterranean coastal landscape and the modular rigor of the distribution logic required by the functional needs of the tender.
The sinuous landscape shaped by the coastal profile that embraces the Calabrian–Sicilian strait migrates from the territory into the city of Reggio Calabria, overwriting forms and relationships with a new “architectural mineral,” then folding inward into the new compact system, rhythmically and uniformly articulated by curved shading sails that clearly structure the required program.
The external profile appears as a new “sculpted mineral,” a “shadow machine,” rising from the small promontory offered by the site’s topography and accompanying the connector road to the “Salerno–Reggio Calabria” highway, weaving a relationship of proximity with the sea it faces and a distant relationship with the Sicilian coast.

The seriality and rigor expressed in the floor plan are given rhythm by a skin of shading elements (vertical slats detached from the glazed façade profile and anchored by a substructure) that modulate and soften the intense Mediterranean light that floods the offices, while also promoting natural ventilation and lowering indoor temperatures.
The project ultimately extends outward into the design of the exterior spaces: the volume is carved out on the working floors through the development of several “vegetal drops,” planted with local floral essences and wild species that shape and add color especially to the maritime-facing entrance front. Meanwhile, the vehicle bays are confirmed and clearly organized, distinguishing between staff and external users.
